Statement by William Ayers

The Letter from Death is exquisite–acutely imagined, well-crafted, vivid, simultaneously transcendent and focused.  Death has held its tongue through millennia, and now, moved to spit out its truth, Death rouses itself and speaks in a powerful, spare, and prophetic voice, providing a harrowing account of human history and a harsh reckoning of the unnecessary suffering we visit upon one another to this very day.  Death’s searing indictment of our collective misdeeds and false denials throughout the ages confronts us with a shocking truth: at last we are face-to-face with the Grim Reaper and he is us.

Who better than Death to explain the addiction of the death culture?  Who better able to document the horror?

There is a thread of hope here–a thin thread to be sure–but it is there to be seized.  Wake up, sad eyed Death implores us, before it’s too late.  Embrace life with unguarded gusto, fearless ecstasy, utter urgency.  Live!  And have your blooming in the rush of the whirlwind.  Life won’t wait!

What a book!  It deserves a large, large audience.
